About
My name is Tricia and I have been running Merridays Pet Care Services since 2007, I am based in Lower Bourne, Farnham, Surrey.
To give you some background about me I have cared for animals all my life. I grew up caring for dogs, cats, rats, mice, hamsters, rabbits, horses, pigs, chickens and sheep. I love all animals; the good ones the bad ones, and the ugly ones. While on holiday on Menorca 30 years ago, I fell in love with a little feral cat. She was very hungry, weak and had lost an eye. I just couldn’t leave her, so, with a lot of negotiation and red tape with authorities in the UK I brought her back to England. After 6 months in quarantine she enjoyed the rest of her life in the UK.
I lived in the south of Spain for 5 years and sadly spent most of my time rescuing stray dogs and cats – trying to find them caring homes. This was a heart breaking challenge that I would not want to repeat. I returned to England with my soul mate Benjamin Brown – a stray Podenco dog from Marbella and my little wild cat whom I tamed, called Suki. After 6 months in quarantine, they settled well into their new English home. In May 2000 I was heartbroken when Benjamin died aged about 17; Suki lived to a happy 18 years. I currently own three wonderful Whippets, Coco age 14, Gracie 9 and Florence 4. In 2006 and 2012 we had two litters of Whippet puppies; a wonderful fun filled experience, there are some photos in the gallery. I understand how important our pets are – they’re members of our family, it is very hard to entrust their care to someone else.
In 2009 I studied canine communication and attained a certificate of Advanced Canine Communication from Amichien Dog Listeners Ltd. www.janfennellthedoglistener.com this has enabled me to understand the canine and the challenges dogs and their owners face in our busy and complicated world today. Prior to running Merridays I worked for 33 years within the commercial recruitment sector and ran a limited recruitment company with my sister Jo Talbot for latter 15years. I live with my husband Philip and 21 year old son. I am a practicing Christian; my interests other than animals are people of all nationalities, Catholic theology, other religions, family history, sociology, flower arranging (I’m one of the key members of the St. Joan of Arc, Farnham, flower team), art and holidaying on Menorca .
